Work is a little slow at the moment, so I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone a little update.
Boondoggle 2016
Boondoggle 2016 was a huge success. When pre-registration closed on Friday, we had 150 people already signed up. At morning registration, we had another 50+ people sign up in person. Anytime you have those numbers at Marina, that’s a great day.
The event ran really smoothly. Computer problems were rare, which is always a good thing. We had a bunch of workers and all stations were adequately filled. We actually had so many workers for one group, I ended up asking some newer people to shadow people to see how they ran grid, worked the computers, etc.
Many years ago, I told myself that I was never going to chair an event ever again. That was really due to so many people having such poor attitude when it comes to contributing during events. I am so glad that so many people stepped up this past event. Everyone stepped up big time. The chiefs; the workers; the volunteers. We started relatively on-time, and even though we ended our last run at about 5:55, almost 6PM, we had the trailer packed and the doors locked at 6:15PM. That is awesome considering that Trailer Tetris is a PITA.
Looking Ahead
AAS is holding two events this weekend at Marina. I won’t be in attendance. As much as I enjoy autocrossing, I already have plans for this weekend, though that might change…
The next SFR SCCA event will be March 13th at Crow’s. That will be a lot of fun. I am thinking about getting together with some friends after our runs and hitting up the local Chinese restaurant. If you are ever in that area, definitely check out Golden Lion Chinese Restaurant!

National Tour
The SCCA National Tour is less than 2 months away, and I have no idea what I am doing. I would like to be in attendance. Whether that is the case or not depends on all type of things. Money is a little tight and will probably be for awhile. I also don’t know what I’ll do for a ride. I had meant to get the Impreza fixed up, but that’s kind of been on the back burner. It is mostly a combination of not having time and not having money. 🙁 We’ll see…
